A stochastic modeling strategy for intermittently unstable Ekman–Stokes boundary layers

چکیده

We numerically investigate stable and intermittently unstable Ekman–Stokes boundary layers (ESBLs) as canonical problem for oscillatory near-surface flows in Earth's ocean atmosphere. The configuration is given by a neutrally-stratified Newtonian fluid above horizontal wall that resides rotating frame of reference. A flow excited relative to this lateral oscillations with prescribed amplitude frequency. utilize the stochastic one-dimensional turbulence (ODT) model it's capabilities time-resolved numerical simulations from laminar turbulent regime. results obtained so far suggest able capture leading-order transient dynamics ESBL. conclude ODT an economical reasonably accurate tool studying layers.
